On August 12 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, the Bellator Fighting Championships will be returning for their third time this year. Notable for their tournament style organization and heart-pounding match ups, they have recently picked up South Florida mixed martial artist veteran, Jessica Aguilar, aka JAG.

Coming out of American Top Team in Coconut Creek, FL, Jessica is a privilege for Bellator to have on their fight card. Having started back in 2005, she is one of the original female fighters in the sport of MMA and has struggled to gain her acceptance throughout the world as a fighter. Even today as hard as it is for female fighters to succeed in the MMA industry, Jessica has more than proved her worth to be a part of one of the best MMA fight teams in the world. Training under the likes of famed, Ricardo Liborio, and training twice a day with teammates like JZ Cavalcante, Mike Brown, and Thiago Alves, she is more than ready to face any opponent Bellator puts in front of her.

On August 12, Jessica (8-3) will be facing Lynn Alvarez (5-1) out of Las Vegas, Nevada. Alvarez is merely a stepping stone for Jessica to introduce herself into the Bellator Fighting Championships as she aims to fight recent newcomer from Japan, Megumi Fujii (20-0). Fujii recently fought at the Seminole Hard Rock against Sarah Schneider, gaining her first win on US soil with a less than impressive show for the highly anticipated bout due to Fugii’s impressive fight history. We look forward to seeing Jessica and Megumi in the cage together in the future and they can show everyone how real chicks like to get down!
