A massive cyber attack hit last week, with indications pointing towards Russian and Chinese hacking groups being responsible, shut down over 1200 websites. Those affected included big names, who suffered everything from slow downs, to complete outages; like Amazing, Netflix, Playstation Network, and many more. The attack consisted of overloading servers on the web, using a technique known as a Distributed Denial-of-Service Attack, and it’s sheer volume made it an attack to remember. Always remember – it’s a good idea to be changing your passwords on the regular, and you shouldn’t be using the same one across different services.
