USC was officially stripped of their 2004 National Championship today. You may remember it as the game where they trounced Oklahoma 55 to 19. The ruling came down from the higher-ups at the NCAA a few months ago but wasn’t finalized until USC’s appeal was rejected by the NCAA today. The action is a result of an NCAA probe that discovered Bush had received cash and/or services deemed illegal by the NCAA while playing for the Trojans. Bush has already forfeited the Heisman Trophy from that year after word got out that it would probably be revoked. This all seems a little bit ironic after recent news that college teams may start paying their players in upcoming seasons. [TMZ]
