Patriots quarterback Tom Brady skipped the Super Bowl champion’s traditional visit to the White House in April, which many found perplexing because Brady’s known to have a friendship with Donald Trump and to have supported him during his presidential campaign. While Brady said he didn’t make the trip to D.C. because he was spending time with his ailing mother, some suspected his wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen, influenced her husband’s decision.
But while that assumption was based on the fact that Gisele is anti-Trump, Anthony Scaramucci – Trump’s recently-ousted communications director – has floated a different theory.
Appearing as a guest host on ‘TMZ Live’ on Monday, Scaramucci hinted that Gisele, being the possessive wife she is, didn’t want Brady at the White House to keep him away from an old flame – First Daughter Ivanka Trump.
“I don’t 100 percent know, but my guess is that there could be a little bit of jealousy there and protection and possession of Tom Brady, and she probably didn’t want him to go,” Scaramucci told TMZ’s Harvey Levin.
“You’re not saying something,” Levin probed.
“I think she’s possessive of him and they have great relationship and she probably didn’t want him there,” Mooch kept side-stepping.
“Because?,” Levin wanted to know.
“Maybe there was a relationship between him and Ivanka at some point,” said Scaramucci. “Maybe it was someone else, I don’t know. I just think there was a possession that caused a rub.”
Lending credence to Scaramucci’s premise, Donald Trump said in 2004 that Brady and his daughter would make a “great combination,” TMZ noted.
A source close to the Trump family denied there is any romantic connection between Brady and Ivanka.
“While they have known each other for years, this is not true,” the source said.
The denial is predictable, and is it really hard to believe that Brady and Ivanka hooked up in the past?
