Man loses arm in gator attack
The most dangerous sport in America: Golf?
A 77-year-old South Carolina man was the victim of an alligator attack, which occurred while he was golfing at Ocean Creek Golf Course. The attack resulted in the loss of one of his arms. According to witnesses, as the man leaned over to pick up his ball, the alligator latched onto his arm, and dragged him into a nearby pond. When the gator went into its “death roll,” the man’s arm was chomped off at the elbow. By a miracle, fellow golfers were saved his life by pulling him from the gator’s hold (minus an arm). Wildlife workers tracked the gator down, killed it, and extracted the severed arm from the animal’s digestive track. The arm was then placed into an ice-filled cooler in the hopes of reattaching it. No update has been provided as of yet on his condition.
Prodigy’s take: That’s why I stick to a good old fashioned game of Golden Tee. You stay out of the heat, waitresses bring you beers, and there are no gators around to bite your freaking arms off. Seriously, has this guy never seen “Happy Gilmore?” It wasn’t so much of a comedy as it was an instructional video on golf course-gator etiquette. We all remember what happened to Chubbs right?
