On September 1st, 2019 in Quitman County, Georgia a family headed out to Lethal Guide Service. Lethal Guide Service is a hunting guide company right off of Lake Eufaula. Derrick Snelson and his daughter went out to try out the service and ended up tracking a behemoth of an alligator. Breaking the original record of a 13 ft alligator, they ended up finding this 14 ft monster lurking in the lake.
Can you imagine exploring this lake and finding tracks of an alligator that is 700-pounds? I’d start thinking that we were in a giant monster movie and you better believe I won’t be the first one that Godzilla is taking. However, Lethal Guide Service provides professionals that accompany you on your excursion to reassure you that you probably won’t be eaten. Snelson and his daughter had the reaction that anyone that truly enjoys the sport would have though. They took on the behemoth challenge, and won!
Record Breaking Reptile
As said, this gator was 14 feet long and weighed around 700-pounds. After they had it weighed and the record breaker was set in stone, people flooded to interview the father and daughter. “We’ll have it ‘life-size’ mounted,” Snelson told WSB-TV. “I guess I’ll have to build a house around it. It’s going to be a monster laying on the living room floor for a while!” That’s one heck of a bonding day between father and daughter and literally one that will be going down into the record books.
Lethal Guide Service specializes in bowfishing and alligator hunting. You can book a tour with them just as the Snelson family did earlier this month. Alligator hunting season runs from August to October in this area. Hunters receive a bag limit of one per season. If you’re interested, give them a call! They definitely have a reputable track record!
