A “must-stop” on the to-do lists of celebrities, athletes, visitors and locals alike, Red The Steakhouse offers a hometown steakhouse feel with all the desired glamour that is craved and associated with the South Beach lifestyle.  The second of its two locations (the other is in Cleveland, Ohio) Red The Steakhouse sits at the base of Washington Ave and offers some of the most mouth-watering & award-winning food offered on the beach.  Presented with the “Innovative Restaurant Of The Year” award this year, Red boasts some of the most amazing comfort food I’ve ever tried in South Florida.   And to all the Boca Raton steak lovers — smile!  Red The Steakhouse is posting up shop in Boca in winter 2012.

The other location as I stated is in Cleveland, and you can truly feel all of the midwest charm and presence in the staff.   It’s blatantly obvious they took a page from the Cleveland hospitality book.  Rosemary, who is director of marketing for Red; sat down with us for a good portion of our experience.  She was constantly suggesting new wines and foods and introducing us to some of the people around the establishment.  First we got to meet Chris Hodge who was a contestant on “The Great Food Truck Race “ who is from Cleveland as well.   He was in Miami for the weekend filming the show for the Food Network and came over and chatted with us as if we knew him forever. Then, we got to meet the Chef Partner Peter Vauthy who explained his inspirations and introduced us to some amazing creations.   The feeling of “dining out with old friends from Ohio” was so prevalent.  It was truly a different feeling than your normal high-end Miami dining experience — (cold and uncaring).

The menu was a chef tasting, and first brought out was an AMAZING homemade italian spicy sausage encased in a 7″ slow roasted banana pepper smothered in the most amazing red sauce.  This was by far my favorite thing tried that evening.  Next we had a slew of surprises brought to our table, including baked macaroni and cheese, green beans and bacon, sweet potato mash infused with marshmallows, calamari, lemon garlic shrimp, wagyu beef, and creamed corn.  Last but not least was a special cheesecake with a chocolate decor on top with two pastries on the side.  Red also has an extremely extensive wine collection that can be reviewed by clicking here. (Open’s in a new window).

This night was one of my favorite restaurant reviews I’ve ever experienced, they made my boyfriend and I feel as if we have been regulars there for years.  And judging by the packed restaurant filled with laughter and fun, it seems everyone else dining that night felt exactly the same way.
