Rick Allen has been providing the beat behind British rock group Def Leppard and its many hits like “Pour Some Sugar On Me,” “Rock of Ages,” and “Armageddon It.” He played most of that with just one arm and a steady foot.

Besides being a bad ass drummer, he is an amazing photographer and artist. He loves to express his art on canvas, with a camera and now even with jewelry.

This weekend you can see his latest collection of artwork titled “Rick Allen: Angels and Icons,” in Boca Raton at the Wentworth Gallery. About a week after the gallery appearances, Def Leppard has another handful of shows, including a cruise out of Miami and then one at Fort Lauderdale’s BB&T Center. As an artist, both musically and visually, one medium informs the other.
