Last Monday afternoon the Florida Coast Guard unloaded nearly 6000 lbs. of cocaine, with a street value in excess of $80,000,000. The arrest was made back on August 3, when the Guard was monitoring the Caribbean Seas just several miles off of the Honduran Coast and noticed a peculiarly maneuvering fishing vessel. When approached, the Coast Guard boarded the ship, found the cocaine and arrested the five men on board. It seems as though there is a possibility for possession, manufacturing and distribution charges. The men are expected to face sentencing and could receive up to 30 years in prison for their crimes.
