The Miami Marathon began Sunday morning with just under 24,000 runners from across the nation and more than 80 countries.
Beginning at 6 a.m., the marathon and half-marathon runners braved temperature of 39 degrees. It’s definitely cold out there. You need a hat, jacket and gloves today. I just think it’s so funny that it has not been this cold in South Florida all year, and the day they are running , it’s freezing outside.
Race organizers also said that 30 to 35 percent of the runners are running for various charities. The fastest runners crossed the finish line around 8:30 a.m.
