In the latest Donald Trump presidential news, Trump has alleged that Obama wiretapped Trump Tower, last week Trump tweeted: “Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!”

The Trump administration has not given any evidence to the claim. Obama’s director of national intelligence has said that nothing has been turned over to suggest that the Obama administration was wiretapping Trump. Trump has asked Congress to investigate the matter. Democratic representative Adam Schiff said the committee would investigate Trump’s claim and has reached out to FBI Director James Comey directly when he appears later his month before the full committee who is also investigating Trump’s Russian ties during the election.

Representative of California, Devin Nunes said that so far there is no evidence to back up Trump’s claims, “the president is a neophyte to to politics – he’s been doing this a little over a year,” Nunes told reporters earlier this week.”

Comey has been upset about Trump’s tweets for “falsely implying agents had broken the law by wiretapping U.S. citizens.”  The relationship between the director and the president has been strained, according to sources just last month Trump’s request to push back reports that there had been contact between Trump’s associates and Russian operatives had been denied.

“I think the President should tell the American people what evidence he has that indicates his predecessor wiretapped Trump Tower. It was a very serious charge and one that needs corroboration” Senator John McCain (R-AZ) told reporters on Monday evening.
