In one of Jimmy Kimmel’s latest skit, he hilariously imparts his interpretation of Destiny’s Child and Beyonce songs in the theme of Taxes. Kimmel starts off his performance stating that he has gets all his tax advice from the legendary singer Beyonce herself, before playing ‘Independent Woman Pt. I’ by Destiny’s Child and dissecting the lyrics for tax guidance.

He then goes onto interpreting other hits by Beyonce for even more tax advice. For example, the lyrics “To the left, to the left, everything you own in the box to the left”  in the song ‘Irreplaceable’ is interpreted by Kimmel as the importance of “Keep your receipts for everything you own in a box to the left, that way they will be there when you need them. It’s common sense.”.

Lastly, Kimmel closes out by pulling some more tax advice from Beyonce and this time from her song ‘Single Ladies’, arguing that it is not about her wanting diamonds from the famous lyrics “If you like it then you should have put a ring on it” but instead – as interpreted by Kimmel – she is saying: «If you love me then why shouldn’t we reap the benefit of filing a joint tax return.”
