They don’t use special effects or make up for his shredded physique, Jackman puts in his time in the gym leading up to the filming for his role.
He would train in 4 week plans/segments. The first 4 weeks he would workout 6 times a week and 2 times a day lifting really heavy weight then the next 4 weeks he would do higher reps with lighter weights to get the muscles popping. On top of that he had world class trainers and nutritionists watching his caloric intake.
