A former upstate NY judge has pleaded guilty to using his authority to reduce a fine in exchange for sexual relations, according to to the office of Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.

Delmar House had been charged with one count of bribe receiving and receiving a reward for official misconduct, both felonies. Under the plea deal House will receive up to six months in jail and five years of probation. House had faced up to seven years in prison before the deal.

Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said, “This was an abhorrent abuse of office,” “We will keep working to root out and prosecute public corruption in all of its forms. Any conduct that compromises the integrity of public office will not be tolerated.”

House was the Village Justice for the Village of West Carthage Court in Jefferson County.

Sentencing was adjourned until May.
