The Brady Bunch’s housekeeper Alice has passed away at the age of 88. Ann B. Davis, who created the loveable character of Alice fell on Saturday in her bathroom and hit her head. She suffered a subdural hematoma and never regained consciousness.

The actress landed the role of Alice, the housekeeper in 1969 and played the role up until the 90’s. Before appearing on the Brady Bunch she co-star on the Bob Cummings show in the 1950’s and won two Emmys and later in 1960 received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“I made up a background story. I did have a twin sister, so I used that as a basis. … I cared very much about this family. It was my family. It was close to my family as Alice would ever get. I would have died for any single one of them at any point,” she said. “
