Drones have become an increasing part of our society in recent years. These un-manned aircrafts are used in everything from war to recreational activities. A San Francisco drone company, Zipline, is teaming up with other companies around the world to use the aircrafts for good.
Partnering with UPS and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance in Rwanda, Zipline will allow the Rwandan government to utilize the drones to deliver life saving blood supplies for transfusions in remote areas of western Rwanda. According to Zipline, their drones can make up to 150 deliveries a day in the African nation. The company is hoping this partnership will serve as a model to nations around the world, showing the true potential of drones in this application.
