A rookie police officer with the Madera Police Department in California attempted to make a traffic stop when he engaged in a chase with a vehicle that refused to stop, and the night would surely test his training. With a civilian ride-along in tow, the officer was fired at while in pursuit by a passenger in the SUV, with a total of 13 rounds being fired in an attempt to break from the law. With 3 rounds hitting the vehicle and disabling it, the officer was forced to cut off the chase.
Luckily the officer was unharmed, and the civilian ride-along only sustained minor injuries from glass shattering as rounds hit behind her.
